Do I look impressed?

Another weekend... uneventful in the grand scheme of things, but I did manage to catch up with a few old friends and some family. Not entirely miserable, but certainly nothing to write home about.

Friday night I went to dinner with Kathryn (again) and her boyfriend Brian. We went to a local place and then to their house (just down the street) to see some photos, catch up with the parents and see all of the changes to their home over the last year.

Saturday night a friend from undergrad, John, drove in from Milton to spend the evening in north Toronto. We went up to Yonge/Eglinton, which was really nice because I haven't been up there since I've been back. Had some beer (in pitchers! thank you, Canada) at one of my choice pubs (the Duke of Kent) and then he ended up crashing on the oh-so-uncomfortable futon in my basement. (Note to future visitors: please don't let the sound of this futon put you off staying chez Edelman. I have a very comfortable and large bed that I would be more than happy to share with most of my guests).

Today I went to celebrate my cousin's 21st birthday at her house where I caught up with some other cousins and family members. It was nice, but I ate way too much junk food and will HAVE to force myself to go to the gym tomorrow to beg to be a volunteer in exchange for a free membership - wish me luck!

All in all, a pretty full weekend, but the best part about it all was that I found my hair straighteners and after a long year without proper ceramic plates I scorched my hair into place... what a treat that was.

In other news, I am aiming to obtain some temporary employment that will last from now until the end of December. After which point I hope to have a brand spanking new carrer-type job to start somewhere... over the rainbow (or ocean).
