last night i celebrated one of my favourite north american traditions (halloween) by dressing up as Amy Winehouse and joining my 2oobs friends in some drinking and dancing. the evening started on parr street, home to eric, sara and steph, and then moved on to the dance cave on bloor street. i always have a good time at the dance cave and after four beers and some gin and tonics i had an even better time.
my version of amy winehouse was a little less vulgar perhaps, but complete with tattoos running the length of both arms (albeit temporary ones) as well as giant black hair. photos of the real amy and my effort below:

not too shabby considering i styled the wig, sprayed my own hair, applied the numerous tattoos and sorted makeup in the span of two hours.

things i learned from my night as amy winehouse:
people think it's funny when you pretend to be a crackhead.
spraying your hair black (to blend in with a black wig) looks good until it rubs off on EVERYTHING you brush up against, leaving you looking like a chimney sweep by the end of the night.
temporary tattoos are NOT easy to remove.
the least painful and simplest way to remove said tattoos is to use scotch tape - apply the tape to the tattoo and rip off quickly. it works very well but unfortunately uses up a bit of tape.
